Communications & Design Lead
Fifteen years building communications for institutions that have to explain themselves to people who did not ask to listen — governments, development banks, EU programmes. I don't design one-offs. I build the system and hand it over.
The through-line
The same pattern shows up in every engagement here. A master gets built — with the placeholders still in it — and then instances get made from it, by me or by the client's own team. A summit secretariat producing its own speaker cards. A ministry running a month of events off one grammar. Eight country briefs from one structure and two donor identities.
That is the difference between a designer who produces artwork and one who leaves an organisation able to keep producing after the engagement ends. Seven of these systems, across four clients, over twelve years:
GovTech Barbados · Government of Barbados
A national digital government programme with an unfamiliar product and a sceptical audience. I took the channel in-house from an external media agency in February 2026, rebuilt the publishing workflow from platform analytics, and ran the paid programme.

The same system re-cut for digital shelter screens, covering nine services — from an event permit to the certificates people request at a birth, a marriage and a death. "Clear steps during a difficult time" is the death certificate panel: a piece of writing that had to be accurate, brief, and not cheerful.

A weekly format I created and ran: one member of the delivery team, filmed against the agency backdrop, cut with workshop and whiteboard footage, captioned for silent viewing. Seven in the first run, shot in 4K.

Daily coverage of the co-design programme with ministries and agencies, produced as a repeatable kit: a shot list mapping each photograph to its on-screen line, timings, and captions written separately for Instagram and LinkedIn. Someone else could produce the next day's edit without asking me anything.

CARICOM Energy · Caribbean Community Secretariat
A month-long regional programme — seven events across the Caribbean, from a film contest to an energy forum in Paramaribo — carrying one theme: Our Future Is Electric.

Caribbean Development Bank · UK Caribbean Infrastructure Fund
Project profiles for infrastructure programmes across the region — roads, highways, water supply, energy resilience — each summarising the finance, the beneficiaries, the timeline and the geography on a single page carrying two donor identities.

Each brief needed a map nobody had. These are drawn, not sourced: axonometric plates with district borders, road networks, capitals and the specific project corridor picked out, each with its own keyed legend.

Caribbean Development Bank · Community Investment Innovation Fund
Five years of grant-funded interventions across the region, reported to the Bank's board and its partners.

Caribbean Development Bank · Social Sector Division
A hundred-page regional policy instrument for seven borrowing member countries, covering six policy areas, four tables, nine figures and six appendices. The design problem was not the cover. It was keeping a document this long navigable.

Contents — four levels of hierarchy, all legible

2X Global · co-hosted with the Asian Development Bank
The annual summit of a gender-lens investment network whose members have mobilised over US$30 billion since 2018. Three days in Manila under the theme Women Driving Resilience.

The speaker cards ship with the placeholders still in them — guest speaker name, speaker title, speaker agency, an empty aperture. Four layouts covering the cases a summit actually has, so the secretariat produces its own programme material without a designer in the loop.

European Union regional climate programme · Latin America & the Caribbean
Communications coordinated between the Secretariat in Brussels, the EU Delegation to Barbados and implementing agencies across two continents, in English and Spanish, to the European Union's formal visibility requirements. Delivered at COP28 in Dubai and at the programme's Annual Meeting in Guatemala.
Annual Meeting, Guatemala — Global Gateway and co-funder lockup, the programme line in both languages, the host ministry, and eleven implementer marks along the base
Like the summit work, this ships as a master with the placeholder still in it. The secretariat drops in a speaker's words and a photograph; the donor bar, the ministry lockup and the bilingual title block stay where the visibility rules require them.

A quote card kit for the programme's European Union side events — five layout variants covering the cases that come up: text only, an illustrated aperture, a speaker portrait, and full-bleed photography. Four of the six shipped with the placeholder still in place. The donor bar changes between variants because the implementing agencies differ by side event, and each configuration had to hold its hierarchy.

A set covering the programme's sectors, drawn to one stroke weight and one containment logic, supplied in positive and reversed versions.

Scotiabank · Marketing Officer, Graphic Designer
An anniversary campaign for a single market, built once and deployed as a website landing page, a publication advertisement and a web banner. The earliest evidence here that the method is not a recent habit.

Feature layout for INBusiness and cover design for Islandista — commercial editorial work alongside the banking role.
